About The Lodge

We are looking forward to all the ministry opportunities before us when The Lodge is complete. There will be a large meeting room with a fireplace, large dining hall and kitchen area and five bedrooms designed for couples or families, each with its own bathroom. This will increase the ability to serve married couples, families, as well as give us the ability to have multiple ministries going on at the same time!

The old Derbonne Family Farm House has come a long way since the fire that almost took it back in 2001. We know God had plans even back then for the work He wanted to accomplish. We are seeking to be faithful as He provides both materials and labor to complete the work. It has truly been amazing what He has done already; gutted throughout, rebuilt entire center section with new trusses, new medal roof over the entire structure, new large front door unit, plate glass, plumbing and more!

We want to keep you posted on the progress and the current needs on the project. If you would like to come out and see first-hand what God is doing here at Seeker Springs, we would enjoy the opportunity. Please continue to pray for us that we would not run ahead or fall behind, but stay in step with God through this process. He is faithful!

Latest News | as of April 2017

In recent months the Lord has blessed us with some incredible donations of materials and equipment for The Lodge. What began as a call from Alabama about the possibility of some bunkbeds being donated from AOTT of the University of Alabama, ended up turning into 4 trips being made where we were given not only bunkbeds, but also a/c units, toilets, sinks, sink and shower fixtures, door knobs and cabinet hardware and much more for The Lodge. Special thanks to Jeff Greer, Cheniere Baptist Church, Bill Smith with Calvary Baptist Church of Alexandria, James Ferguson with Caney Lake Baptist Church and Jordy and Kim Henson and their Sunday School Class from Shades Mountain Baptist in Birmingham as well as several local college students for all they did in helping us remove, load and transport these materials.

We are at the point where we are ready for the labor to help in finishing the plumbing, some of the electrical and the exterior siding. If you, or your group would be interested in providing labor, materials and or finances toward helping us complete The Lodge, please get in touch with Terry for more information on details. We determined in the beginning to take steps only as the Lord provided, and He has been faithful! We have seen Him provide initially for the 150 acres, trusses, framing materials and labor to renovate, put a new metal roof over the entire building, enclose with windows, plate glass and a large metal front door unit. It has been a slow process and hard not to be anxious at times, but we know His timing is best! We are trying to not run ahead or fall behind, but to be in step with Him. We know The Lodge will be a great asset to us in His work at Seeker Springs and are looking forward to its completion.
