Land Dedication Service
Friends, supporters, and families gathered to celebrate and acknowledge together what the Lord had done in providing this land to the ministry of Seeker Springs for its advancement efforts. Ann Cheriere, daughter of Jack and Anita Derbonne, former owners of the property shared with the group that in 1962 her parents bought this land and dedicated it to the Lord. On this day, October 19, 2008 God granted their request for the land to be used for the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We know they had to be looking down from heaven smiling. Never doubt that God hears your prayers and He is in control of all things. Stones were set up on the property as reminders of this wonderful provision of God so that when children asked they can be told of the marvelous works of our Lord. The stones were given by the Jennings Family in memory of Benjamin Jennings. Benjamin was bord the same day that the Lord first spoke to Terry Slawson about starting Seeker Springs at Okaloosa on September 10, 1996. Benjamin when to be with the Lord in February of this year after a long battle. The stones were set in a beautiful cove at the foot of a hill which will be known as Benjamin's Cove. This will be an extension of the current prayer garden. A special thanks to all who helped make this day extra special. Those who cleaned, built steps, baked and decorated cakes, decorated the grounds, worked on the cove, and hundereds of other things. We want to especially thank Sammy and Paula Morrow for making a quick trip up from Pollack to be with us. |
