Ministries - West Ouachita Youth Basketball
West Ouachita Youth Basketball began in 1999 at Seeker Springs as another opportunity to reach out to children and families of our communities with the message and hope of Jesus. This league offers a Christian environment for boys and girls age 6 through high school to learn not only basketball skills, but Biblical lessons and principles that will follow them throughout their lives. There are 7 age divisions where teams are selected to match skill levels as evenly as possible. While competition is utilized to develop growth in each player, Christ-like sportsmanship is emphasizes and taught. During each divisions play, all teams are brought together for a devotion where scripture and biblical lessons are taught. The league has grown from 18 teams with 105 participating in 1999 to and average of 23 teams with an average of 160 participating. What an opportunity to see boys and girls grow in their basketball skill each year, but even more, to see them grow to be the young men and women God intends for them to be.
